RAPA: E-commerce Platform & Product Configurator

For RAPA, a leading manufacturer of refrigeration equipment, I designed the information architecture and UX for their new e-commerce platform and product configurator. My work enabled customers to generate instant, accurate quotes, giving RAPA a decisive advantage over competitors still relying on manual, multi-day valuation processes.

RAPA needed a modern digital platform that would do more than present products, it had to become a fully functional sales engine. I was responsible for the analysis of the product portfolio, the IA architecture, and the UX design of the entire store, including a powerful configurator for refrigerated counters and systems.


My UX work focused on simplifying a highly technical product line into a clear, structured and navigable experience.


The configurator was the core business differentiator. Previously, RAPA’s product valuations took 4–7 days due to manual communication and complex technical variations. The new system allowed users to configure equipment visually and receive a quote in just a few minutes, a dramatic acceleration confirmed in the official case study . This shift immediately positioned the company ahead of competitors who still required long manual processing.


Beyond the configurator, the redesigned website achieved strong engagement results, extending average session duration to over 4 minutes, reducing bounce rate and increasing business contacts by 43% . Eventually it became a main tool of work for multiple merchants and resellers working with RAPA as the producer.

Customers could browse, compare and configure devices with ease, while the system intelligently surfaced only relevant parameters and compatible options.
